About · Est. 2026 · Santa Barbara, CA
A Santa Barbara garden-supply house.
Prime Bioworks began in 2026 on De La Guerra Street with one idea: a working garden deserves supplies chosen with the same care a seed house gives its catalogue — not a wall of look-alike bags picked on price alone.
We keep six departments on the counter: Soil & Amendments, Plant Nutrients & Care, Seeds & Starter Kits, Planters & Pots, Watering & Tools, and Outdoor & Growing. Each item is on the shelf because it earns its bench space — dependable compost and worm castings, unglazed terracotta and glazed stoneware, forged-steel hand tools, and open-pollinated and heirloom seed. If it is a gimmick, it does not make the catalogue.
How we source
We buy from West Coast growers, potteries and tool makers wherever we can, and we trial what we sell in our own raised beds through a full Central Coast season before it reaches the counter. Packaging is plain and honest; we would rather spend on what is inside the bag than on a printed one. When something performs, it stays; when it does not, we drop it.
Who we serve
Central Coast gardeners, raised-bed and container growers, first-season seed starters, and anyone building soil for the long run. We sell exclusively online at primebioworks.store and ship US-only from our Santa Barbara address, most orders leaving within one to two business days. We are small enough that the person who answers your email is the person who packs your order — and we like it that way.
